The Club
Some BJJ enthusiasts who had a passion for the art, these included original students of Professor Arlans Siqueira originally started Kimura Gym in 2007.
The club is run unlike many other clubs, fighters are developed from within the club and hence club members are given full attention by the teachers no matter what level they are.
The UK’s first BJJ teacher and head of the UK branch of Leao Dourado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association Professor Arlans Siqueira teaches at Kimura Gym.
Within a short period of time Kimura Gym has developed a reputation for having one of the friendliest training atmospheres. Accepting all manner of people on the premise that once someone walks through the door they are treated with mutual respect as a student no matter their social status, race or religion.
The nature of Kimura Gym adds to the enthusiastic learning approach held by the students as well as those of Professor Arlans Siqueira and his relentless commitment and talent for teaching. Over the years Professor Arlans Siqueira has adapted and modified his teaching approach. Having been a traditionally trained BJJ player from Brazil, Professor Arlans Siqueira realized over time that many UK students required a different type of training simply because of the cultural and educational difference. This entailed specific attention to detail, verbal explanations regarding technical movements and their application.
